Broaden Access to Housing
In 2005, TDCJ released nearly 6 times the number of felons it released in 1980.[i] For tens of thousands of these former inmates, the question of where they will live upon re-entry to society is immediate and critical. It also has important consequences for society at large: current evidence indicates that ex-prisoners are more likely to re-offend if they do not find accommodation on release.
