This toolkit, compiled by the National Center for School Engagement (NCSE), describes the problems with truancy and how it is a risk factor for other issues, such as juvenile delinquency. Outlined are NCSE’s recommendations for school districts and lawmakers on how to raise awareness of this issue, along with some community-based solutions that do not place a heavy emphasis on incarceration.
